Aaron Korsh is quite open to returning to the original series with a follow-up reunion film, even though he is about to start his new spinoff, Suits LA, which will premiere on NBC on February 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
For our most recent cover story, Korsh tells Entertainment Weekly, “I was delighted with the way Suits finished, and at some time we might make a Suits movie, which could be great.”
“I would not have many answers for you because it is more in the speculative or theoretical stages. However, the idea of us doing it someday is not crazy.
Starring Gabriel Macht as legal shark Harvey Spectre and Patrick J. Adams as his con artist protégé Mike Ross, Suits first aired in 2011 and continued for nine seasons on USA Network.
In 2023, the series emerged as a pop culture phenomenon—four years after its conclusion—when it was released for streaming on Netflix. It shattered streaming records for months, with Nielsen reporting that U.S. viewers consumed 57.7 billion minutes in 2023, leading to its status as a global sensation, surpassing its popularity during its initial airing.
Suits LA, a new spinoff based in the same universe and starring Stephen Amell as former federal prosecutor turned entertainment lawyer Ted Black, was created by creator Korsh in response to the Suits revival.
“This is meeting a whole new bunch of individuals and investigating their interactions and their passions and their anxieties and their ambitions and their goals,” Korsh said, adding that he was unable to finish expressing what he wanted to say about the Suits universe. “It is enjoyable to start anything over from the beginning.”
Korsh understood he needed to come up with a completely different plot to start a Suits spinoff because the first series started Mike as a scammer who pretended to be a Harvard-educated lawyer to work under Harvey at a prestigious NYC company.
At this point, Ted enters the picture. Although he is connected to Suits at the beginning, he is concealing a whole other past from everyone around him, which will be made clear through flashbacks over the first season.
Korsh explains, “I finished, for the most part, completing the tale of the characters of the first Suits—I did not want to produce a season 10 of Suits.” Social media supporters are essentially saying, ‘We do not care,’ and I know that.
We want you to return our old fan favourites to Suits for season ten. I am hoping that by the conclusion of the first episode, viewers will be thinking, ‘Wow, this is its own thing, and it has huge promise, and we can not wait to see what they have in store for us for the season.’

I know that it will take some time for people to fall in love with these new characters.
Despite his good intentions, Korsh is still under pressure as he gets ready to introduce the fandom to a whole new Suits family, which includes Ted’s best friend, criminal lawyer Stuart Lane (played by Josh McDermitt from The Walking Dead), as well as the firm’s promising protégés and professional rivals, Rick Dodson (played by Bryan Greenberg from One Tree Hill) and Erica Rollins (played by Lex Scott Davis from The L Word: Generation Q).
“I see it like assembling a football team,” Korsh explains. “You must have an excellent strategy. The best guys you can draft must be chosen. You must put in as much effort as you can and hope that they get along well enough to win games.
Korsh can only hope for the best because he thinks he has written the finest Suits LA scripts and chosen the best actors for the parts.
He states, “Audiences will discover that they mesh and gel onscreen, which I believe they have.”
“You are unable to know. [On Suits] was like lightning in a bottle, and I believe this group has the same connection and talent. Hopefully, we will receive lightning in a bottle once more in the future.
Series actor Adams originally hinted at a sequel during the Suits reunion discussion at the ATX Festival in June. Adams stated, “Obviously, there is a Suits LA show that is being developed, but I am a person with no influence or authority.”
In an attempt to reunite the band, [Korsh] is undoubtedly interested in making [a movie]. If that is conceivable, it depends on a lot of factors, but is it? I believe it is feasible.
Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, and Meghan Markle (before her marriage to Prince Harry and her subsequent title as Duchess of Sussex) were also featured in Suits.
