Carrie Fisher : Meryl Streep and other stars turnout for memorial service

Family and friends including Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan and Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly turned out Thursday for a memorial service for the late “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher.

The private service was held at Fisher’s home in Beverley Hills, reported, and was organized by Fisher’s daughter, Bille Lourd.

Fisher, who shot to fame around the world as Princess Leia, died aged 60 on December 27 after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Her mother, the Oscar-nominated actress Debbie Reynolds, died just a day later at the age of 84 following a suspected stroke.

Reynolds, who lived on the same compound as Fisher, is to be buried on Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles with some of her daughter’s ashes, People reported.

Fisher was cremated earlier this week according to ET online, which also said a public memorial for both actresses was planned for some months’ time, though the details had not yet been finalized.
